"Nick did excellent work for us! Thereâ s no doubt in his work ethic and obvious work quality. He completed the job in a timely manner, at a fair price, and provided excellent customer service! I could instantly tell Nick takes a lot of pride in his work and was flexible when I requested last minute changes. I would absolutely hire him again in the future and recommend him to all others."

"I looked on Angi.com for a licensed plumber who could install drain pipes to the existing septic as well as hooking the county water to my existing manufactured home's plumbing. I was given the name of ProPipe Plumbing, LLC, by Home Advisor within the hour. Connor from Pro Pipe called me soon afterward. He was polite and ready and willing to travel to my manufactured home about 25 minutes outside Oneida. I met with him and instantly liked him and trusted him. He was able to put me on his schedule within 2 days. He had advised me to install a PSR and a Thermal Expansion tank on my hot water heater so I did. He stayed to make sure nothing leaked throughout the home before he left."

"This is an extraordinarily well run company with excellent core competencies. Dennis does a great job on the front-end of the business by quickly assimilating the customers needs and providing 3-D sketches. The installation quality and material are also excellent. Considering the quality, prices are fair."

"They were the only ones that provided a detailed description of the materials and work to be done. A lot of contractors in Rochester are very loose with invoices and contracts…"

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
