"My experience with Team Farrell was an excellent one. I renovated my condo by replacing all carpeted and tiled floors with a Pergo laminate floor that looks like hardwood. The interior walls and trim were repainted. My kitchen was completely renovated (new cabinetry, appliances, quartz counter top, fixtures and tile back splash). I made my purchase through Lowe's and signed a contract with them, but they in turn contracted out the work to Team Farrell. I was assigned a Team Farrell project manager who oversaw several other teams (Farrell Plumbing, Farrell Power, tile setters, flooring and woodwork team, painters, etc.) Every one of these craftsmen were highly skilled, polite, and treated my home and the work they were doing with the same care and respect they would if it were their own home. Each evening I was sent both a text message and an email advising which Team Farrell worker/team would be arriving the following morning and when he was expected. The text message also included a photograph of the worker for ID purposes. The demolition of my home began on June 28th and the job was completed in full on August 1st (5 weeks) although I was forewarned by Team Farrell that a job of the size I was undertaking could take 6 to 8 weeks or longer dependent on availability of work teams, subcontractors, weather, or other factors. They were very honest about that. But once they started the job they continued to move forward until the job was completed. I was particularly impressed with the craftsmanship, artistry and attention to every minor and major detail by Team Farrell. They kept me in the loop throughout the process, assisting me with making decisions as each arose (such as grout color, trim decisions, direction the floors would run, etc.) At the end of each workday they did an excellent job of cleaning up my home and hauling away all the garbage. I am very happy with the end result and I would not hesitate to contract with Team Farrell in the future. They have my unqualified recommendation."

Frequently asked questions

  • It’s important that you verify their license is still in good standing. Also keep in mind that certain states or provinces don’t require licensing if the job is under a certain dollar amount.
  • You can find a list of your state’s licensing requirements on the HomeAdvisor website. Before you get to work with the pro, make sure their qualifications are current and acceptable to you.
  • It is always a good idea to get a copy of the pro’s insurance certificate for future records, and in case anything happens. This is a good way to feel more secure in your home project, and to weed out potential scammers.

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.

You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.

Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:

  • Have you completed a job like this before?
  • Do you have a list of references I can contact?
  • When are you able to start the job?

In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.

  • How many years of experience do you have?
  • What’s your permanent business address?
  • Are you licensed to work in my area?
  • When did you earn your business license?
  • How do you handle warranty service complaints?
  • Do you have worker’s compensation, property damage and personal liability insurance?

Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.

Comment: 1 Destructive Testing Repairs: All Destructive testing areas will be replaced with a 3 part stucco system. The affected areas will be removed down to the sheathing and new weather resistant barriers, stucco paper, and lath will be installed. The stucco will be applied in a 3 coat system consisting of a scratch coat, brown coat, and texture coat, which will be installed according to Florida building codes and the ASTM 926 and 1063 Standards. Stucco will be hydrated as recommended by industry standards during the process and afterwards during the curing stage. 1 Prep, Sealants and Penetrations: The entire home will be power washed prior to the primer and top coat being applied. Elastomeric sealant is applied for hairline cracks using a bridge technique to seal the voids. This material will permanently bond with the stucco and become part of the wall. All seals on windows, vents, and penetrations will be replaced with elastomeric sealant to ensure no water intrusion. Prior to exterior paint application, all windows, doors, outside light fixtures, security cameras, and vehicles in driveway are covered with plastic and taped off. 3273 SF Paint Application: Sherwin Williams Full Body Loxon Primer will be applied to existing painted areas, as well as any raw stucco, bonding light chalk and dusting concrete. Sherwin Williams Super Paint top coat is applied at the manufacturer's proper millage. This is sprayed on and followed by back rolling to achieve desired thickness. Stucco and/or foam bands, exterior doors, garage door(s), shutters, soffit, fascia, downspouts, and all decorative features will be included in the paint process. *Loxon XP, Emerald, Duration, Resilience, etc. paints can be used in lieu of the Super Paint for a different rate. *The goal of this repair is to remove the stucco issues from the equation by preventing water from ever reaching it. APTITUDE ASSOCIATES INC. will file the repair with the city on customers behalf for resale value.
