"Carlos was excellent. He re-screened 5 tattered window screens for me and placed them back into the window. He gave me a fair quote. Showed up when he said he would. Went above and beyond. Great work. Would highly recommend Carlos and this company."

"From start to finish the experience with the Countertop Guy team was exceptional, and surpassed expectations. They removed my old counters & backsplash , installed quartz counters and marble herringbone backsplash, and even aided in in providing install on my new faucet & appliance when I ran into a unexpected complication from another vendor. They were informative & supportive during my initial selection of materials, and checked in during various steps of project install to ensure I was satisfied. Lastly their pricing is excellent . I canâ t speak highly enough about the Countertop Guy- they do incredible work & are a delight to work with."

"Professional and personable with very reasonable fees. Donald Evans and his crew provided excellent service and work. In the two weeks before Thanksgiving, we discovered damp rot in the dining room wall of the older house we had just purchased. Within a few days the Evans team replaced rotten studs and beautifully repaired drywall--then shortly after they completed a new roof for us, so our home is ready for the holiday gathering. I highly recommend Evans Paint, LLC."

"Will did a great job for us. He was able to get to work quickly, offered us a reasonable rate, and did a nice job with the two projects we needed help with (replacing a ceiling and repairing a damaged exterior door). He was conscientious about wearing a mask indoors during COVID, which we appreciated, and he did a good job of communicating about when he would arrive and how long the work would take. He also noticed we had a broken gate in our side yard and he repaired it without us asking before he left, which we really appreciated. We would definitely hire Will again for home repair / carpentry jobs."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
