"We reached out to Brian on a Sunday morning and he responded within 30 minutes. That initial encounter was representative of all of our dealings with him. He is responsive and professional. There was a slight delay with a supplier, the effects of which were communicated promptly and the schedule revised. Heâ s clean and tidy with his work and pays great attention to detail. In the course of the installation of our new sliding door, Brian discovered and resolved issues left behind by the previous owner. We are very pleased with the work done and will not hesitate to have Brian work his way through our list of repairs and future projects. For thumbs up from us!"

"We hired Kevin Logan of Logan Designs to remodel a small guest bathroom that had been out of services for approximately ten years. Kevin carefully analyzed the project and our design plans, made some good suggestions which we adopted, and completed the project within the quoted price. This bathroom is in the middle of our living area, part of which Kevin needed as a staging area. It was inconvenient, but he was always respectful of our property and our privacy. At the end of the day, the staging area was clean and usable for the evening. Kevin is reliable. He was on the job, every day arriving at 9:00AM and departing at 5:00PM. We highly recommend him and would not hesitate to trust future projects to him. Paul McIlvaine"

"Carlos and Luis, along with a few day workers, did a great job installing my new roof. They replaced and added copper as needed. They were professional and easy to deal with. I feel that their price was VERY competitive. Looking forward to utilizing their skills on other projects! E.Bednarz"

"Very happy with the work done. Joe and his crew and sub-contractors were professional, showed up on time every day and were flexible when some new issues arose. In the end, the cost was the same as the original estimate (plus additional work we requested). We would definitely use Tri-State Masonry again and would happily recommend to others."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
