"I have just had my second bathroom refurb with W builders , and I am delighted with the result. The fitter, Carl, was fantastic. As with the first bathroom, one or two things went wrong owing to the nature of this property, but they always kept calm and resolved the problems. They are a perfectionist who works to a high standard. My new bathroom looks like a first-class hotel and is well worth the amount spent."

"Laura Albert is a five star professional. Laura did a masterful job transforming our unfinished basement into a lovely guest suite, bath, and laundry in a near-impossibly tight space. After designing the perfect floor plan to maximize grace and function, she devised plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems that saved us time and money. Laura provided detailed plans and drawings down to the exact fixtures and appliances, and worked with our contractors to ensure smooth and easy permitting. She was always available to answer questions and a pleasure to work with. Her efforts gave us one of the nicest spaces in our home and the shower everyone vies for. I will use Laura on any future projects and unreservedly recommend her to anyone."

"We had a fantastic experience with Total Renovating and would absolutely use their services again and recommend them to others. Russell and his crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He did a beautiful full kitchen remodel for us as well as two partial bath remodels, putting in a new window, siding repair and a couple smaller things around the house. He went above and beyond working with us even before the contract was signed to identify materials that we liked so that the estimate would be as accurate as possible, which we really appreciated as it was not something we got from the other contractors we were in talks with. He was also able to finish our kitchen on a much shorter timeline than the other bidders were estimating. Russell and his team were responsive, transparent and reliable throughout the process and we are extremely happy with the finished product!"

"Alpha Home Services was such a big help! I had a water leak incident that damaged the floor and ceiling of my home and Alpha Home Services was able to come quickly and open the ceiling and take out the dry wall. The first day they came they laid out all the plastic and closed off the damaged area and took out the dry wall to let air dry the foundation of the home. The next day they let it dry and came to check and spray to ensure there would be no mold. After they came again to install new dry wall and paint. They also were able to give me an estimate for all the damages and talk to my insurance company for the claim. I was able to get my claim and my home repaired in no time. Thank you again!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
