"We hired Roy Hodges to complete a remodel of our living and dining rooms in late summer 2015. The project involved moving the wall between both rooms to enlarge the dining room, drywall and texture, painting, wood floors (including the adjacent hallway), and trim work. We are truly pleased with the results. Our questions and concerns were addressed immediately, and the project was completed in a timely manner. We were impressed with Roy's employees, his vendors and subcontractors as well. We added a replacement sliding door in the Dining Room which caused some additional coordination and time to the project which Roy's team handled very well. We will consider Roy again for our next major and/or small project as we truly enjoyed the experience. Thanks, Roy - appreciate all you did for us!"

"They were very professional and made sure other items were not damaged in the process. Remodeling is never fun but they were able to do it in exactly the time that was projected even with a few snags. I would recommend and hire again if needed."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
