"They were very prompt and responsive to our needs, which were simple: install carpeting on our basement steps. They did not try to "upsell" us to a type of covering we did not need. Their pricing was very attarctive and they delivered what they sold us, when they promised."

"Marcio was very professional and gave us a spot on estimate. He instantly found things that no other contractor spotted. He and Marquinho was courteous and professional. They finished in a good time period and cleaned up daily(as much as possible in a construction site!) My father in law is a retired carpenter and meticulously inspected their work as they went. Thumbs up the whole time."

"Took a long time to find the right business for this job. Had met with several contractor/ tile guys for a bathroom remodel. This was a marble tile install with converted bathtub to shower remodel. John was extremely professional and thoughtful in his approach to the project and In his communications. He prepared us for what the project timeline would look like, was extremely patient as we worked through preferences and changes, worked withIn my budget and provided reasonable options for the project in order to meet my goals. He was responsive, on time, and provided follow up calls to questions immediately. Any associated contractors were also incredibly responsive to needs and requests. Fee schedule was very fair. . The work itself is stunning. I could not have envisioned a better outcome. Will definitely ask this contractor back for additional home improvements. Highly recommend. Very nice to work with."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
