"Mike turned my concrete block disaster of a basement in to the nicest area of our entire home. They completed all the framing, drywall, electric, plumbing, painting, cabinets, he can do it all. He does impeccable work for a very fair price. He comes up with unique solutions to really make your project top notch!"

"They went above and beyond what was expected. They were personable yet professional. They did many different jobs for me from power washing, installing smoke alarms to restaining and sealing my patio and many more. I would hire them again without hesitation."

"5 doors were replaced; each of them had their own problems( adjacent ceiling had fallen and the inside heating duct was raised so that the door could open smoothly, molding in several doors was broken or had holes and each was fixed to look like new, the colors of the doors and hardware was matched.) There was no additional charge for these adjustments or plastering of 3 additional ceiling and wall cracks/ holes in the plasterboard. A sliding door that had come off the track when it was removed and bent to install a new tub in the extended bathroom was fixed. Molding was replaced to make the extended bathroom look like it had always been that size. Dining room chairs that were in pieces were matched and put together to make the original set of 8 complete. Joseph came early on the 2 agreed upon dates, stayed late- sometimes without a lunch break and cleaned up the garage where he planed the wood. He was congenial to me and my family and we look forward to him doing future work outside"

Decks, Custom Decks, Custom Porches , and 3 more
"Jason Dickey came out to give me an estimate on a repair of a portion of my deck. I have 2 decks connected by steps. While he was out at my home he gave me a price to complete the whole second deck. His price was lower than the other 4 estimates that I have received. His price was between 5-6 thousand dollar less than the other contractors. To make a long story short, he gave me an awesome price to complete both decks which we accepted. While Jason and his crew were at our home they were very polite and showed a great deal of courtesy. While working they kept the work area clean and without hazards. Jason suggested changes to the decks that enhanced the visual appeal. The quality of work was pristine. I have gotten so many complements on my new deck. I would highly recommend STONE MULCH &MORE, Jason Dickey to do any outdoor project, especially deck building. I plan to hire him next summer to put in a fish pond in my back yard. He is truly an honest and very nice guy!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
