"Kitchen and M. Bath My husband and I were facing our first remodeling project as first time homebuyers. We are so happy that we chose Beverly Builders Group for our kitchen and master bath remodel project. They did an amazing job! Roy and Lauren, were my leaders and designers, they came out to meet with me personally to discuss my needs and the vision that they have for our remodel project was stunning. They both really listened to me and also offered great suggestions and design advice. The team assigned to our kitchen master bath remodel project - from the demolition guys and frames to the tile guy, electrician, plumber, etc...were top-notch and did great work. During the entire process, if we had a question we could always call the office directly at any time. Now we want to remodel our other bathroom and garage. We did not even have to think twice. We will definitely go again with Beverly Builders Group for such a fantastic job the first time that we wanted them to do our next remodeling job too!"

Interior, Full Painting Service, Residential , and 2 more

"Aldo and Etel Painting transformed my home prior to making a sale on the property and definitely helped me with receiving the highest offer possible because of the beautiful interior work they completed at my home in Ventura. Aldo was not only competitive, but he was communicative throughout the entire process, as I live a ways away from this property, and therefore, he would send me daily progress updates via FaceTime. I have never known another painter or contractor to provide daily updates via FaceTime and show you the work that was completed. By the time the job was completed, my brother physically went to the house and did a walk through and said everything looked outstanding. We were so happy with the work that we are hiring Aldo Painting to paint/redesign other properties as well. Can't say enough about Aldo and Etel Painting and will definitely hire again! Thank you!"

"Green Planet Remodeling Inc. helped us with our kitchen remodeling project. We were very pleased with the entire experience. We have two infants, and Jonathan, the project lead, was very respectful of our space and needs. He kept noise and dust to a minimum, and communicated with us constantly to let us know what was happening and when. Jonathan even made sure that his workers respected our needs. Jonathan is a details guy, and takes pride in his work, which is obvious in the workmanship. He made adjustments when unexpected issues came up, and went out of his way to identify and help correct some issues that were not strictly in the scope of the work. Most importantly, we were very happy with the final product, and we would definitely hire Green Planet Remodeling Inc. again."

"Leandro was a pleasure to work with. He is a perfectionist, truly concerned about the quality of his work. He showed up on time (or early) every day, was very clear about the number of days the job would take, charge a VERY fair price (his quote was well below a couple of other companies I received bids from) and he did ALL of the work himself. Our floors look fantastic (even the engineered oak for which I didn't hold out high hopes). I would absolutely hire him again."

Frequently asked questions

  • It’s important that you verify their license is still in good standing. Also keep in mind that certain states or provinces don’t require licensing if the job is under a certain dollar amount.
  • You can find a list of your state’s licensing requirements on the HomeAdvisor website. Before you get to work with the pro, make sure their qualifications are current and acceptable to you.
  • It is always a good idea to get a copy of the pro’s insurance certificate for future records, and in case anything happens. This is a good way to feel more secure in your home project, and to weed out potential scammers.

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.

You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.

Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:

  • Have you completed a job like this before?
  • Do you have a list of references I can contact?
  • When are you able to start the job?

In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.

  • How many years of experience do you have?
  • What’s your permanent business address?
  • Are you licensed to work in my area?
  • When did you earn your business license?
  • How do you handle warranty service complaints?
  • Do you have worker’s compensation, property damage and personal liability insurance?

Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
