"Wes installed a whole-house surge suppressor as well as an interlock kit, wiring, and outdoor wall inlet for a generator. As per the other reviews here, he was great. The whole thing was done efficiently and for a decent price, with clear communication and careful pandemic precautions throughout. Would recommend to anyone."

"Brian is an excellent carpenter and handyman. He is personable, a good listener and excellent at pointing out solutions we had not considered. Brian took on 3 outdoor carpentry projects. His work is precise and the work quality is impeccable. He was always on time, cleaned up the work areas, and never raised his price. We are so pleased with his work, we offered him a much larger project for 2024. We highly recommend Brian Kopf and look forward to working with him in the future. Five stars!"

"Jeff arrived promptly at the agreed upon time. He was able to track down the source of the electical problem in an older home. Left the job site clean and his price was more than fair for the work done. I am having him back to do some work on another house and would recommend him to family and friends!"

"Artie was punctual, polite, professional and did exactly what he saud he would do for the quoted price. I found him via home advisor and was very happy with the end result. He did a fantastic job fixing our porch supports, replacing old columns and putting railings on the porch. His work was top quality. I would definitely hire him again."

"Joe and Chris exceeded all of our expectations with the job. The job consisted of having to remove the left side door frame and molding from our bathroom door which they took great care in doing thus minimizing any destruction of the plaster walls. They expertly installed the new frame and rehung the door perfectly. They also repaired out front exterior door which was out of plumb and not closing properly. And also replaced our exterior basement door. They also replaced a damaged tongue and groove knotty pine board in our stairwell leading to our upstairs bedroom. Joe and Chris explained everything they had to do to complete the jobs and Joes estimate was reasonable in price. They are both gentlemen with a professional attitude, friendly and easy to talk to about the work and a variety of other topics not related to the job at hand. I highly recommend them."

A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
