"Matt did an amazing job renovating an entire old home we bought that was not only dated but unlivable. Not only was he easy to work with but he does quality work. We needed a special renovation loan and he worked with the mortgage company and their team to cross all the Tâ  s and dot Iâ  s. He was always available for questions and really worked with us to bring our vision to reality. Even when we didnâ  t know what direction to go or what was needed he had plenty of guidance and was able to give suggestions to make the process and decision making easier. The house went from an unlivable disaster of a wreck but Matt helped us and saw its potential and made it a beautiful home for our family. Overall, he and his team were very professional, super patient, extremely knowledgeable and just awesome to work with."

"I used Terry to do remodel of my guest bathroom and my master bathroom. His price was better than other bidders. He is very reliable and delivers quality work. He self performs the carpentry/ finishing work, tile installation, relocation of electrical and installation of towel racks/accessories. He schedules other trades ( plumber & electrician ) along with coordination and work scope definition. He does not charge martial or labor markup for this coordination. I was pleased with quality of work and schedule for completion."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
