"Elder showed up to give an estimate, as promised. Many did not. On the day work was to begin, the entire work crew was here, on time, as promised. They worked quickly and efficiently and completed the project ahead of schedule. The end result exceeded my expectations! I would not hesitate to hire America First Home Improvements again for other projects in the future. Highly recommended!"

"Mr. Jose Cruz is a gentleman, a great listener, and a willing collaborator with homeowners! He was, with his helper, Santos, so excellent in the first job that we hired them again for a much different and MORE COMPLEX project that they were capable of doing but not seeking! Their care, attention, and competence in doing the 2nd job is the backbone of this recommendation. The 1st job was to repair, partially remove, and predict the future needs of our 250-foot, wooden privacy fence. Nicely done already, with options for which we'll hire in the future. The 2nd job was to install our new bathroom vanity; install the new countertop with pre-installed sinks; demolish the 50-year-old built-ins; remove old sinks/plumbing; position the 3 new cabinets vs. an alcove and mismatched flooring; save the mirror above; and save whatever wall tile could be. Jose and Santos did a mathematical process of installing near-fitting pieces patiently and correctly, and I was confident in them at every step. Consider the complexity: a strange-sized alcove (70.25") and 3 separate cabinet- and drawer-bases (69.0") for a large countertop (68.5") with 2 pre-installed sink basins. Everything had to be calculated perfectly, step by step. All cabinets had to be level for the countertop. We had subfloor under the old bases and tile under the middle of the old vanity and in the rest of the room. The demo revealed surprises in the wall, the old plumbing, and especially the floor, making our early installation plans impractical and our project timeline impossible. Jose couldn't have expected these when quoting or starting the job. They immediately distinguished themselves in the demolition. They worked hard removing short, old, built-in cabinets that were truly built to last. The old tile back- and sidesplashes were critical to save for a fully tiled room with a partially demolished bathtub wall--and they saved 80% of that tile, including precious bullnose tiles! Their care in saving the 5-foot-wide mirror saved us at least $300 in replacement costs. This savings covered some of the totally appropriate, extra costs for Jose's extra work in the unexpectedly difficult demolition. Thursday (Day 1), during demo and rough-placement of the cabinets, Jose always welcomed my input and made sure I was content with the work. Jose and Santos listened to my own careful calculations in acquiring pieces from different vendors and envisioning the space after demolition. I sat right outside the workspace and received rescued tiles, handed straight to me for protection. Jose addressed flooring problems with shims and boards, overcoming nearly all problems. Working with me took extra time. Jose cheerfully provided many solutions, and yet we eventually decided that we needed an extra day *before* they returned to think about the problems with the non-square spacing between the walls and the countertops, the sidesplashes, the wall's base molding, the cabinets' uniform kickplate, and the floor. Proving his flexible attitude and gentlemanlike behavior, Jose rearranged his schedule to give us that needed extra day and evening before returning. Jose's willingness to come back for installation on a Saturday gave us several benefits: We had a Thursday evening for routines; a Friday night to re-measure after demolition and reconsider wall/molding/trim options; and a Friday when our plumber came to handle unexpected pipe problems from demolition, preventing a bigger plumbing job that would have risked the new cabinets later. On Saturday, my husband worked with Jose and Santos on our updated plans/details. The 3 men worked wonderfully together, repairing walls/flooring, installing trim, and solving problems. Jose did for us what few contractors will: collaborate and even share workspace with handy homeowners on a complex project. Jose and Santos did competent, complete carpentry & teamwork on our..."

"Mr. Diaz was quick to respond and give us a (Quite reasonable) quote. He was also able to start work within a week or so which was not a requirement but it was a bonus. We have a split level that is 2/3 brick so we needed the second story, all the eves, and trim scraped and painted. We had already purchased the paint so his price to us was strictly for labor. He did an amazing job on our old house. It had last been painted 17 years ago. He pressure washed, scraped, sanded, and caulked before painting. He arrived early and worked hard all day in the heat. He did such a great job that we hired him again to paint our wood shed to match. He cleaned up his mess and left the area clean and neat. We are very pleased and highly recommend him."

"Felix is young, but demostrates top-notch quality work in repairing a 5ft hole in the bedroom ceiling that I fell through. Furthermore, one of my biggest pet peeves is not being responsive where I do not hear from a contractor for several days, but Felix excels in effective communication. In addition, he arrived on the scheduled date. In closure, I would hire him again because he shows eagerness, perseverance, and determination which are all hallmarks of a contractor that will exceed the customer's expectations! Thank you Felix!"

Painters usually price a job by the square feet of the project. Sometimes they’ll include flat fees for fixed expenses, like overhead and permits.
We make finding a painter easy. Simple use our directory to find a painter. Here you can browse local pros, check their reviews and do your first screening without ever having to call. We’ve also prescreened all the pros for you, to give you peace of mind.
Interior painting makes for a doable DIY project. You can save some money and get a real sense of accomplishment by doing this yourself. And, with the right prep work – covering, taping and scraping – it’s fairly forgiving. But it takes a lot of time to move furniture, tape trim, prep the surface and cover your floor, let alone apply the actual paint. Instead, save yourself the time and hassle and find a local interior painter.
Leave exterior painting to the pros. Not only do you need to worry about the type and quality of the paint, you’ll also likely need a ladder and considerably more prep work. You’ll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. It’s almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.
