"I hired Rivera Construction to build me a new deck. Carlos was very polite to work with. He has great craftsmanship and does beautiful work. I couldn’t be more happier with the deck and privacy wall he built. I would definitely hire him again for future projects."

"For a arge scale project company, CB Anderson has been very flexible and easy to work with, for a smaller project like ours. That's given our family a sense of security that our Des Moines Remodel is in good hands."

"We would give Paul a 5 star rating. He listened to our concerns, designed around our priorities and he handled all of the permit application process for what we considered a reasonable cost. He made time to meet with us on our schedule and he suggested a few contractors for pricing out the project. During construction, when a few surprises arose, he quickly returned to our house and worked with the contractor and permit inspector to come up with reasonable solutions. From start to finish, Paul shepherded us through the design and construction process. We are very pleased with the end result."

"I love love my new deck. It is now better than when it was originally built. The stairs were rotting out and new stairs replaced them. Half of the flooring was replaced as well as top of railing. All the folks I dealt with were very professional, friendly and easy to work with. The person who gave the bid was great. The guys that built the deck knew what they were doing. The guy that picked up the old parts was great also. I am very happy with Interbay Construction. Thank you very much!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
