"The owner and his guys were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond more then they needed to. We had a terrible experience with a different company and this one fixed everything and made it right. I am so grateful that we found Steve. Weâ ll be using him whenever we can. Absolutely trustworthy and know what they are doing. Would recommend them 100%."

"These guys were honest and good at their work. Suggestions on replacing my deck saved me money(when I would easily have gone for the added expense). They also did not ask me for a dime until the project was completed. I would, and will, use these guys again. I recommend them highly."

"Easy easy easy to do. I was panicking at first, but, Ben and Carl were there for me every step of the way, even when I changed my mind. They were never frustrated, always felt like family was in my home and Sal, brought all the laughs. It was a joyful experience and I would recommend them highly."

plumbing
"I called C&A Plumbing for a kitchen garbage disposal leak. Carmine came in and took a look at the job and gave a reasonable estimate. His estimate was affordable and better then big name companies. He accommodated our price limitations and adjusted the dates as well. Once we decided on the dates Carmine was professional with his work and finished the job within a reasonable time. We decided to go with C&A plumbing because of the affordable rates, local family business and Carmine's courteous nature. I will surely hire them again and recommend them to friends & family."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
