"The true treasure of the experience was the carpenter, Balint, who was a very detail oriented craftsman. He worked long days, cleaned up space beautifully each day, communicated daily with us regarding the project. The electricians, Vince and Joe, were thorough and complete with all of their work. The project manager, Pete, stayed in touch regularly to complete the renovation on time."

Nick M. in August 2024
Basement Remodel, Kitchen Remodel, Bathroom Remodel
"Don has done quite a bit of work for me. I brought him on to help with my bathroom and kitchen remodels, he's put in new wood floors in dining room and did most of the work in my basement remodel. All this was done over the course of several years. and I wouldn't have had him come back if I wasn't pleased with his service. He is the only contractor me and a small group of my friends call on when we need work done in our homes. His work is quality and his prices are reasonable. What I like most about him is that he has a personality. When you talk to him it doesn't feel like it's just a business. I just find him to be very easy to connect with."

"Nick was the most honest contractor I have ever worked with, he did what he said he would do, was there when he said he was going to be and never let us down. He completed his job before he said he would and whenever I need a contractor again, I will be asking NBM to do the job!!!!!"

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
