"Everyone always says a home renovation will be hell. I've never heard any encouraging words from friends or colleagues about the process- only that it will take longer and be more expensive than you think. Now I can laugh at those people because we had the opposite experience with Alumni Builders. Dan Nistor and his team of subcontractors far exceeded our expectations for a total gut rehab of our 1920s Evanston bungalow. He worked closely with our architect to help us redesign and dormer our attic, remodel our kitchen, enclose our front porch and update our basement. Dan is a very reliable, honest and steadfast person. He reminded me of the role I used to play as a doula, someone who would assist a laboring woman and their partner during pregnancy and childbirth. He always stayed calm, walked us through the steps, helped us assess options, gave us his opinion when we asked and helped us feel safe and confident through the process. Now we have this gorgeous house that has a whole new life ahead of it for our growing family. I just feel so lucky that we had Alumni Builders walk us through this very complex renovatoin. I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. And if it wasn't such an ordeal to find all of my baking utensils after the move, I would make him and his family a three tiered cake. "unfortunately, I drove through my garage. don't ask, an embarrassing accident. I thought the garage would be a teardown, but they were able to put it back together ,and get my car out for me. All the repairs were done quickly and expertly. I was very thankful that I found them. They have a Better Business rating of A+ and I would certainly use them again for any remodeling or projects for my home."

"We were very happy with DemoWorks. The price was fair, the work was good and the workers friendly. Initially, my husband and I hired DemoWorks to remove two small walls/doorframes and to drywall our front hall closet. This was no easy feat considering our house is 100 years old, has mostly plaster walls, and had an old exterior wall now acting as an interior wall in our home. We also wanted, what we thought were, two old, capped gas pipes removed from our living room wall. When Monfilio and Drake arrived to do our project, Monfilio immediately stated that he believed the gas pipes were actually old electrical boxes. At this point, we had several estimates from other companies on the cost of removing these gas pipes and, yet, Monfilio was literally the only person to suggest that he believed these capped pipes were actually electrical and when we opened up the wall, he was right too. Monfilio was always willing to offer advice and information about the construction of our house. You could tell he has a great passion for homes. There was a small misunderstanding and he was willing to fix it so that we were completely happy with the project. He even stayed late (unprompted) to make sure it was 100% complete before he left. Long-story short, we were so impressed with the work that they have done for us that we actually asked them to come back to remove a third doorframe, after our first project was completed. At this point, all of our projects have been completed and we are very happy with the results. It is also worth noting that all the employees that have worked with us on our projects have been professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We will definitely be hiring them to help us with other projects around our old home."
