"Jay and Jeff are the best contractors I've hired in 30+ years living in Mid TN. Down-to-earth, honest, straightfoward people. No used car salesman tricks to win my business. Jay was also the lowest bid of the 11 HVAC contractors I contacted to replace my unit. There was no negotiating, he just gave me a price he thought was fair (after I requested getting bids lower than $4900 for a 3ton unit). Now, from experience and common sense, going by price alone in picking a contractor is the worst decision you can make since short-cuts in quality are usually taken. Not in this case. The unit he installed was a 3 ton Amana. A couple other contractors quoted this same unit, with the lowest quote being $1300 more than Jay's price (by an HVAC contractor who was the best rated on y-e-l-p). From researching HVAC installs, I learned that even more important than the type of unit you install is the actual quality of installation. Speaking to Jay's partner Jeff - who came out to check the unit to be replaced - I felt in good hands based on how quick and knowledgeable his answers were to my questions. They also went above and beyond by doing a few things they didn't have to do, such as replacing my vent grill, and also covering up condensation pvc pipes from the previous HVAC install of an upstairs unit (I passingly mentioned this to Jeff and was pleasantly surprised to see this unrelated job completed). Overall very happy and will be using Jay to service my other unit and hopefully won't have to call him much vis-a-vis this new one."
