Size of Garage: Specialty layout
Comment: We prefer the project to be added to the existing house but a stand-alone option may work if need be.
- We'd like to add a garage with room for a shop. The entire building would be about 20' wide x 28' deep
- The front face would have a garage door to the right and a man-door to it's left. The extra space would be on the left of both doors to leave room for storage/shop items.
- The garage door will be 10'X10'.
- Our current driveway has space enough for a "driveway into the garage".
- There would be some excavation work as the slope is about 2' from left to right of project.
- A concrete pad would be needed for the 20' x 28' building
- Garage would be insulated and either finished inside or left studded if that's an option.
- In addition,
- A 50-amp 220V circuit in the current and new garage for EV chargers
- At least 4 120V outlets in the new build.
*The electrical panel is on the wall that would become an interior wall if left in place so, that would have to be moved as well, if possible.
- The garage should complement the house and match roof pitches, siding, etc.
We are looking at doing this project as soon as it can be scheduled. There may be some things I didn't think about but I think I hit on the most important aspects.
