"Ron did a great job on my fireplace. He removed all my old brick facade work and replaced it with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. He installed a new mantel as well as building it to suit my specific needs (I wanted a tv over the mantel). He went above and beyond by installing the mounting bracket for the tv and placing conduits behind the stonework for my tv cables. The only negative is that I had to wait several months before he could get to the work, but well with the wait!"

"Project: repair chimney Alan and Joey arrived on time and ready to work. They did a great job installing two stainless steel flue liners, one for the fireplace and one for the gas furnace, replacing the furnace pipe connection, and neatly closing up the entrance to the chimney wall. Repaired the top cap, installed top plates to lining system and installed two rain caps to prevent water, animals and debris from getting inside. On the outside of the chimney, repaired and replaced seven bricks with new mortar. Repaired crown with crown seal and attached new flashing at roof. Waterproofed chimney. Cleaned up all debris inside and out Very personable and efficient team. I am very happy with the work done on my 50 year old chimney."

He knew exactly what we wanted and they completely redid our flagstone front walk - over 12 years old and now looks brand new - and built a new brick landing with a beautiful bluestone landing top and 2 steps. It could not have turned out any better! Mark Jr was able to find bricks to match our 27 year old home after I gave him the brick name we ordered way back when. It looks like the new landing / steps came with the house. The workmanship and attention to detail by the crews was amazing, precise and exacting. "It is with deep satisfaction that I recommend Gradys Painting and Plastering & Construction. Mr. George Grady is a skilled craftsman. He was hired to correct long neglected and extensive masonry and window issues on a large, beautiful Presbyterian Church built in the Civil War era in Philadelphia. The property was neglected with only minimal maintenance performed over the last 40+ years. The building was in severe decline and in need of stabilization and restoration on many fronts. Cracked ledge plates were chipped out and reestablished, internal walls damaged by leakage were broken out and repaired, brickwork was repointed and in severe cases reestablished to original strength and beauty. Leaks around the base of the building were addressed to stabilize deterioration of the foundation. Large rotted window sills under beautiful stained glass windows were restored after significant masonry reestablishment due to water damage under the rotted out sills. Broken and missing stained glass windows are in the process of repair and replacement. The process started with new metal frames cast by Mr. Grady. The new frames will hold clear painted replications of the original stained glass, also crafted by Mr. Grady. Regular windows all around the church and manse were also repaired and restored. Roof leaks were accurately identified and repaired. A sagging plaster ceiling has been torn out and restored. All this work was done by Mr. Grady alone or with an occasional helper. He worked with care, expertise and respect for the original structure. The results far exceeded our expectations and have injected new life into a building on the brink. This building, owned by the Presbytery of Philadelphia, now houses a new urban ministry in a newly gentrifying area of the city.
