"We were very impressed with the work done by Standard Heating & A/C. They have serviced our furnace and A/C for years, and offered their duct cleaning service. That had never been done (house is 39 yrs old) and we knew it needed it. The technicians were wonderful -- punctual, knowledgeable, courteous, careful and professional. They arrived on time, fully explained the process, answered questions and got to work. They stayed on task for the 6 hours it took, alternating taking short breaks for food and water out in their truck. At the end, they showed us the before and after pictures they had taken during the process, and it ws alarming to see how much dust was removed from the ducts, including the lint from the clothes dryer filter. We have a Fisher & Paykel dryer that is 14 yrs. old and the manual does not fully explain how to clean the lint filter (just says to keep emptying the small lint bucket). Technician Jon said he had never seen such a dryer, but figured out that by removing one screw, the internal lint screen was removable. It had a huge amount of lint build-up on the back side that was not being scraped into the small lint bucket which I empty regularly per the manual. I had thought just the dryer vent stack needed cleaning out (which they did) since it was taking longer to dry the clothes. But by removing the build-up of lint on this screen, the dryer is now much more efficient. That alone was worth it to me. I would enthusiastically recommend Standard Heating and A/C to anyone for HVAC maintenance and duct cleaning."
