"When they put the windows in they cleaned up after themselves and nothing was left behind. They showed me how to work the windows and how to tilt the top and bottom for cleaning. They were really nice and respectful, they were great! The windows are under warranty and they will replace them for free even if I break them."

"We originally hired them to do some sheetrock work and replace a shower. While working, we asked them to bid a few other things that we were going to do ourselves. But their prices were so good we kept extending out the scope. By the time we were all done, they had updated all the bathrooms, replaced the kitchen, put in all new flooring, and replaced a lot of electrical. This was all done via text updates while we were on vacation, as it all had to be done before school started. Patrick kept us informed the entire time, offered lots of suggestions, and didn't get frazzled while we purchased things remotely from home depot. We finally got to see the house this weekend, and were completely blown away! It was way above anything we expected! We Will definitely be calling them for anything we do around the house in the future. My only regret is that they won't do work in Dallas!!"

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
