I was amazed at how quickly they were able to jackhammer a section of the basement floor add the needed plumbing, pour new concrete and set the shower; all in about 2 days. "Home Advisor really messed up however everything turned out fine. 1st they did not schedule the plumber I asked for and 2nd they gave me an appointment time on Saturday which was invaid because the plumbing company does not set scheduled times on saturday. This was not Thomas and galbrith plumbing fault they were upfront about it when they called early sat. Luckily everything worked out great my drain was cleared out and a very reasonable price."

Project Location: Cincinnati, OH Date: 02/01/24What is the nature of this job?: Repair existing water mainComment: A 15'0" section of 4" PVC in our back yard which starts at a right rear downspout has been clogged suddenly due to a Pine tree being very close to it. Water came down the basement steps and flooded the playroom. Fortunately we were home and were able to take care of it once we saw it. All is well - inside anyway - for now. My husband created an amateur way of redirecting the downspout to empty at the opposite end of the steps, which are adjacent to the basement wall, so any drain water will actually get to the drain at the bottom. It had been dribbling down right alongside the house wall and missing the drain in the middle of the basement well. But this solution won't last long and we want to move along as quickly as possible. (The PVC was installed by the City of Cincinnati long ago to redirect storm water previously emptying in the streets.) I am hoping this section can be restored from within the current PVC so I don't have to remove the very mature, beautiful tree, but am willing to do so if that is necessary. Projected root root damage would then dictate removal first. If so, I can (sadly) have the tree removed first and the stump ground out to make access to this easier and the job go faster.
