"Hired JL Building LLC to help out with an existing lot that we will be building on in the near future. Wanted/needed a berm built up along busier roadway and then the lot enclosed with fencing that was aesthetically pleasing for the existing neighbors. JL Building completed the work (including permitting which is a pain the ass) within three weeks of our committing to them in writing. Completed work was as desired. Ive looked at some of their other work and based on my experience with our job Id recommend them to anyone in the 509."

"We had some major water damage that had not been addressed before we moved in. The damage included water heater area and extended into the bathroom floor under the vanity. Let me tell you, this was not a pretty job to take on, and being an old mobile home, never straightforward. Greg was so kind and professional, and the quality of the final work was beyond my expectations. I just keep opening my water heater area to stare in amazement at what he was able to accomplish. Ha haa.. The rot is gone, and so is the bad odor. The plumbing is upgraded. Itâ s 90â s tight. Something I really appreciate about Greg is his communication. He listened carefully to understand exactly what I was hoping for. Heâ s also willing to offer suggestions while not ever taking over. I know nothing about construction but he never made me feel dumb. It was a great experience, and completed before 5p.m. In one day. Thank you Greg and Lucas!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
