"Kyle is terrific. He did the wiring and lighting in our newly built home recording studio as well as other electrical repairs, and did I a great job. He really understood what we were trying to do, went above and beyond to make it great...and had the best price of the four estimates we received. I would recommend him to anyone, and we will hire him again...for sure."

Remodeling and Masonry
"I hired this company and dealt with Jeremy for my masonry issues. He was the most professional, pleasant and decent contractor I have ever dealt with. The work was done expertly and he and his team went out of their way to work with me. They cleaned up after themselves and I could not be happier and I feel that the work will last for years to come. I was also able to meet his partner, Josh. Both are very professional, straightforward and honest. They told me the best way to handle the problem and completed the work in a timely manner. I could not recommend them enough."

"Got both bathrooms remodeled in my condo, including new tub, custom walk in tile shower, and custom tile floors. Fantastic experience from beginning to end and exceeded my expectations. Helped me through the design stage while still staying respectful of my budget. Was very prompt and professional during the construction phase and throughout. Great communication throughout the process and was very accessible if I had any questions. Ensured top quality work was done (even higher than my expectations and my own high standards). Also did great follow up service to ensure that I was happy. The project finished on time and was great quality. Mark was the main tile guy and did a great job. I would highly recommend Big Bear and plan to use them again in the future."

Handyman for Small Projects
"Professional and friendly crew. Jeff Pezzano, owner, quickly responded to my email query and sent his crew, Sam and Dan, to check out a leaking flashing around our North Olsted chimneys. We had interior water marks on the brick. Jeff diagnosed the problem by phone, and his crew re-chalked the 60-year-old flashing. The cost surprised my, so low. I found the company on Angie's List. I'll be calling them for other handyman work."

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
