"I found them on Angie's list. They called and came out the same week I called. An excellent customer service individual gave us a quote. They said they would be here on a certain day, and they showed up on time. They completed the job without a mess, cleaned up after themself, and looks like they did a great job,. "Had 3 companies give quites. First said major leaks even though house inspector saud none. Next said only needed repairs, but he wasn't doing small jobs. Sawgrass was by far most pleasant about explaining. Came out in less than 24 hrs for quote. Explained that roof permits were taking about 4 weeks. Not enough time before closing. He explained repairs would cover. Once hired on Saturday , was here Tuesday morning and finished in few hours. All crew were following corona guidelines. Work accepted by us and realtor. "We had been begging roofers to even look at our 2 leaks because it was during the rainy season and they were to busy. Alex responded immediately and we made an appointment the next day. We were surprised he could do it sooner then the other roofers we had interviewed. His price was also much lower then the others. We ended up upgrading the our new roof for the same price the others were charging for a lower grade roof. Alex gave us a schedule and stuck to it. He was professional and always answered his phone. HomeAdvisor uses an extensive screening process to screen businesses and business owners/principals. We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, whenever concerns are brought to our attention. Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Licensing

We require all pros to attest that they carry the appropriate local and state licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

If a business states that it's registered as a corporation or limited liability company, we confirm that the company is in good standing in the state in which they operate.
