"I solicited three proposals for the refinishing of my large deck, Duqueâ s proposal was right in line with the others, they worked us into their schedule and were able to start working within a week. Stripping the old finish and discoloration took a day to complete. After two days dry time they returned and applied semi clear Super Deck finish using an airless sprayer and back rolling. They applied two coats for a deep penetration and seal. Iâ m very happy with their workmanship and great communications, keeping me updated on each step of the process."

"As part of our annual home maintenance project, exterior painting for our house was in consideration. We sought five reputable house painters. All were decent and professional. Our initial consultation showed that Certa Pro Painter in San Mateo was cut above the rest. The rep, John Galang, showed up with deep knowledge about different paints, finishes, and techniques. He was more than happy to share insights on what would work best for our home, considering its condition and the local climate, and also, we belong to a homeowner association. Throughout the painting process, their competency shone through. They prepped the surfaces meticulously, ensuring the house was clean, cracks were filled, and everything was primed throughout. It was evident that the painters had tremendous trade experience and took pride in their craft. The result was a beautiful finish, and we were happy with their work. Moreover, their professionalism extended beyond just the quality of their painting. They maintained a clean workspace, always showed up on time, and communicated effectively, keeping us in the loop about the progress and any necessary adjustments. During the process, the rep, John, even showed up to walk through with us. He did what he promised during the consolation meeting. Our experience with Certa Pro Painter was exceptional three weeks after they finished the painting. They were not the cheapest. Among the five we got quotes from, they were somewhere in the middle. But considering a knowledgeable painter fully insured, bonded, and licensed, we looked no further to pick them. If anyone is seeking a quality house painter, we wholeheartedly recommend them or at least consider them in the bidding process."

Painters usually price a job by the square feet of the project. Sometimes they’ll include flat fees for fixed expenses, like overhead and permits.

Interior painting makes for a doable DIY project. You can save some money and get a real sense of accomplishment by doing this yourself. And, with the right prep work – covering, taping and scraping – it’s fairly forgiving. But it takes a lot of time to move furniture, tape trim, prep the surface and cover your floor, let alone apply the actual paint. Instead, save yourself the time and hassle and find a local interior painter.
Leave exterior painting to the pros. Not only do you need to worry about the type and quality of the paint, you’ll also likely need a ladder and considerably more prep work. You’ll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. It’s almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.
