"Mike is a very friendly and professional contractor/handyman who helped me install a few faucets and fix a leaking washing machine (drain was clogged and needed to be snaked). Super easy to get in touch and schedule the service. He came in, got the work done fast and professionally, and was very, very fair with his pricing. All around great experience and I will absolutely be using him again."

"Anthony has become an extended family member. He treated our "project" as if he were building his own home. He gave as much attention to every detail and care in the building process as if he and his family were going live in our home. He is extraordinarily professional and caring. He never ever cut a single corner. In fact, he often did a lot extra without ever charging us. He was able to take the vision we had in mind for our home and make it better than we had thought it could be. He was with us from our first meeting with the town boards to the day of completion. I recommend him highly."

"I had an excellent experience with Polanco Bros. In scheduling the winterization of my sprinkler system on the eve of a 20 degree temperature drop, the company's representative was very accomodating to work with me to provide next day service. The contractor, Tony, came during the window promised and got the job done quickly. Also, he was very polite. I will likely use this company again."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
