Comment: The safety eye sensors and the circuit board on a 3/4 HP - Overhead Legacy Model door opener on a 7 foot tall metal panel door went out about two weeks ago. That is a guess on my part since I smelled something like a burning board until I unplugged the unit. The two remote control units are not working, I checked the batteries. The manual switch on the wall was acting flaky so at 18 years of age it appears the door opening motor has failed.
I contacted Mansfield Overhead Door since they were local and recommended. A gentleman, Kevin, came out three days after the initial call, looked at the unit and said he would get back in touch with us for a replacement option and quote. That was over a week ago so for nearly two weeks the unit has been out.
My wife and I are retired and I am disabled so this has been an odd situation. There is a lot of "stuff" in the garage we have been clearing out but the motor area is accessible.
