"Justin and his crew did a great job! Devito's is very professional, as Justin is very knowledgeable and has mamy years experience in the business. They completed the job on time, at the price originally quoted. This particular job took several days. Each day they cleaned up nicely, answered any questions and made sure the job was done right. The year prior, Devitos installed all new windows for us and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Devitos for any home improvement job."

"I am very lucky to have found Mettle Contracting; their attention to detail, and their desire to get everything right was a pleasure. Installing the original pocket doors in my prewar apartment was a challenge which they easily met. Mettle also installed a hinged metal lid to my roof that I am also extremely happy with. Their work ethic is excellent, and I would not hesitate to recommend them for any kind of project!"

"The two brothers that represent Krnos Construction are amazing! Meticulous workers who are experienced craftsmen. Working in my 70 year old apartment, they removed and replaced baseboard and added crown moulding with absolute precision. The miters and seams are perfection. Plain hollow doors were upgraded with two panel crafted doors. And their spackling, sanding and painting artistry on decade old walls was incredible. They came when they said they would and finished on time, always keeping the work space neat at the end of each day. Whatever your home improvement needs are, give Krnos a call...you will be thrilled with the results!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
