"Greg was fantastic to work with. He was extremely knowledgeable, flexible, professional and personable. His years of experience really show when working with him. . While we were originally looking at just a plumbing fix, after meeting with Greg and talking through quotes and the process we also booked him to replace our flooring and vanity during this project. All of which look great, and we are so happy with having the peace of mind that the plumbing issue is fixed, and enjoying our new beautiful floor and vanity. Greg always took the time to talk through what he was doing and why, and answer any questions we had along the way. He kept an eye out for other potential issues and gave us recommendations on what we may need to update in our older home down the line to keep things in good repair. You can tell he really cares about helping people and getting the job done right. This was our first time contracting work out for our very first home, and we are very grateful that Greg made this such a positive experience. I would definitely recommend Gregâ s Renovations and we will definitely reach out to him for future needs."

"Jordan and crew did an amazing job on our basement and made sure it was finished in a timely manor, as we had just moved. Never usually write reviews but felt I definitely had to in this case. There were no up charges or hidden costs and everything was done as we discussed to a tee. Highly recommend!!!"

"Outstanding results. Jim's task was to remove an existing external staircase and replace it up to code. He was very meticulous at every point of the project and even impressed the county inspector. Very reasonable cost and time to complete. The house would fall before that staircase! Would recommend in a heart beat and would hire again."

Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
