      Comment: I want to speak with contractors who are willing to meet my goals. My primary goal is energy security. Selling power into the grid is secondary but still significant. Colorado Springs Utilities may attempt to power our city with 100% renewables. This will make failures more probable and more frequent. As you recall, 700 Texans died in February of 2021 because the utility windmills froze. Plenty of natural gas was available at its source but could not be delivered to homes because their was no electricity to run compressors or blowers in residential furnaces. My energy security requires battery backup around 32 kWh. I have chosen the Concorde Sun Xtender PVX-6720T for storage because it provides sufficient capacity for reasonable price. Twenty four of these AGM batteries would be connected in a single series string for 48VDC to a hybrid inverter. Each of these batteries stores 672 Ah at 2V. I can be flexible about batteries if there is a better choice. Lithium batteries are unacceptable because of their high cost. I will operate these batteries at float voltage nearly all the time and seldom cycle them mainly during CSU outages. Excess power will be sold into the grid. The Outback Mohave inverter GD8048 works with the other components and seems to be a good choice. I have a complete design including part numbers and now I hope to find an installer. I can buy components directly from the supplier (mainly solar-electric.com = NAZ) or indirectly through the installer. A total of 19 solar panels will produce 6.82 kW nominal at 370W nominal per panel. Most of these will be intermittently shaded in winter so I will require microinverters. The number of panels is limited by the sunlit area on the roof of my house. My power consumption was 10540 kWh in 2022. I own my home and will pay cash to own the solar system.
