"Diego and his team at Vallen Pro are the best around! We needed all of the common areas of our home and our kitchen cabinets painted. It was a huge job. His team tackled two-story walls, vaulted ceilings, doors, window endless trim and wainscoting, crown molding, a tall brick fireplace, and knotty pine which is very difficult to paint over. Diego had the best price of all the quotes I sourced and was awesome to work with. He is great at keeping in constant contact so I never had any questions about what he and his team were doing â at the beginning of the day we would confirm next steps on the project, and at the end of the day we would review progress and make sure everything was perfect. "Not only was Silas a pleasure to deal with, but his attention to detail was truly extraordinary. He restored my aging deck beyond what I thought was possible. I hired him to stain my deck, but what I got was really restoration. He trimed the shrubs encroaching on the deck, thoroughly pressure, washed it, spent over a day on his knees sanding the deck, replaced rotten boards and then gave it two sprayed on coats of stain. I will be hiring Silas again to do some interior painting for me as well. I canâ  t praise the quality of his work more."

"Oscar Vico Painting proved to be as outstanding, in every way, as his reviews and reputation posted on line would indicate. His job for me included walls (some with wallpaper stripping and skim coating required) originally stained doors, both paneled and louvered (with frames, molding and baseboards), and a papered stairwell with a high half-wall, the final motivation that led me to a Pro. I will be forever grateful that Pro was Oscar Vico. Skilled and adept with the actual prep and painting, his efficient organizing and planning for every step was equally impressive. - Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
- Can you supply a written estimate and contract? Never use a painter who isn’t willing to put his work in writing.
