"I hired AM Handyman Solutions to paint my home inside. I was getting ready to sell my house and was last minute trying to find a company who could come in and get it done. Everyone I called was weeks out, I spoke with Julian at AM Handyman Solutions and he moved a few things around and got me scheduled! I was so happy with the job they did, I had some patches and needed the entire inside repainted! "They came out and painted my shutters and front porch. But first, they replaced any wood that needed it. They went up on the roof to paint a couple of vents. They did an excellent job. They even found someone who could come in for a second job (painting 80 balusters and staining 5 newel posts) at the last minute. Beautiful, professional job. No mess was left and they had great advice. Definitely hire them again."

"Trevor did an excellent job cleaning our deck/patio areas (500SF of stamped concrete, 400 SF of Eon composite decking). Decking: 20 yrs old. Stamped concrete: 30 yrs old. He power washed the surfaces with a 2700 PSI power washer. Pwr washing removed the loose sealer, dirt, dust etc. He applied terracotta red & brown Quikcrete color product (Home Depot or Amazon). He also applied the brown Quikcrete product to highlight the grout lines which gives the appearance of flagstone. He followed with 2 coats of Behr sealer & applied 303 Aerospace Protectant (Amazon) to the Eon deck. The 303 Product really brings the “oak color” & wood grain. Trevor also re-stained the Hot tub wood, wood bench, & vertical surfaces (posts, paneling etc). See the enclosed pics for details. Pay close attention to the Co Spgs weather. Sealers can take a few hrs to dry."

"We hired Native Painting to do a whole house job. This included drywall ceiling repair, chair rail panels, walls, trim, doors and kitchen cabinets. Steve came over and was on time, professional and gave us a quote that we thought was fair. Steve told us the job would take 7 to 10 days to do but they were able to finish up in 6 days. The team showed on time every day the men were all very polite and the painting was impeccable. The edging was all hand done and perfect. Both my husband and I were really impressed and have already recommended them to several friends. It can be difficult to find good work ethic and Steve and his crew at Native Painting were 5 stars in all categories!"

"Mountain Views Construction LLC was one of the names provided to us by the supplier from whom we purchased our Milgard Windows. Mountain Views was highly rated by the supplier, so we called Mountain Views for an estimate for the installation. Aldo, the owner of Mountain Views came to our home and graciously provided a very reasonable estimate. During our initial encounter we were pleased to learn that his company not only installed windows but also did roofing, siding, painting, remodeling, etc. We engaged his company to address our siding installation and fencing needs as well. Leave exterior painting to the pros. Not only do you need to worry about the type and quality of the paint, you’ll also likely need a ladder and considerably more prep work. You’ll likely need additional equipment like ladders, scaffolding and possibly a paint sprayer. It’s almost cheaper to just hire a pro. Talk to a local exterior house painter about your project.

But some may need to take it back to their shop to run numbers and give you a detailed estimate with costs broken out. Neither method is better than the other, but just make sure to get multiple quotes.
- How long have you been in business? A long business history helps you avoid shoddy companies. It’s hard for a service business to stay in business if they don’t do good work.
- Are you licensed and insured? Not all states require a license for painting homes, but many do. Always use one that’s insured.
- Do you belong to any professional organizations? You’ll find many online, like the Painting Contractors Association or the Finishing Contractors Association?
- Do you have other work I can look at? Always check a portfolio or, in the case of painters, it’s better to look at work they did a few years ago to see how well it’s held up.
- How long will the job take? Get a rough estimate but get it in writing.
- How many people are in your crew? This is especially important if you work remotely. More people generally means more noise, but they’ll be done faster.
- Will I be in the way if I’m home during the painting? You usually won’t be in the way, but this question helps you understand what to expect while they’re working. They’ll need to lay down coverings and do a lot of prep work.
- Do you guarantee your work? Never hire a painter who doesn’t guarantee their work. This often means they’ll rush the prep work, since peeling never happens right away.
- What type of paint do you use, and how long is it rated to last? Different rooms need different paint and the exterior needs exterior paint. It comes in different grades with different guaranteed lifetimes.
- Can you supply a written estimate and contract? Never use a painter who isn’t willing to put his work in writing.
