Comment: I have a typical 1/4 acre city lot in Lakeville, not far from Lake Marion. Our lawn is in rough shape from the weather last summer and our two dogs. I'm looking to have the yard graded and new sod put in. The back 1/3 of my yard is sloped upward and has rocks/wood chips, and there are several really large beams/rocks at the bottom of the slope that need to be removed. I am hoping to transplant several ferns and flowers to the front yard as we would like the entire back yard to be grass. There is also a fire pit and fenced in garden area that I want removed (I will build a new fire pit and raised garden beds later). We can do all of the prep work aside from removing the beams as they will need to be hauled out with a bobcat. I am also interested in pricing for a sprinkler system but not sold on getting one. The back yard is fenced in with gates on either side, one of which is 5 ft.
I know next to nothing about grass types so open to suggestions. Our house faces south and the front yard fries to a crisp if not watered enough. Hoping for a type that can handle lots of sun.
We do have a water main that runs through the back yard directly on my property line. My neighbors on either side have sprinkler systems that run right up to both property lines.
