The older part (East side) of the house is over 100 years old, new part around 21. Old part has severe leaks and is cold. New part has a fresh air return in the bonus room ceiling that blows cold air down the stairs and into the living room and master bedroom. There is one thermostat in the entire house - on the old side. We are keeping warm with space heaters and a gas fire place, while the furnace runs pretty much all the time. We suspect the insulation around the fresh air return has fallen away. The insulation in the roof has probably fallen away, as well. Not sure there is any insulation on the East wall of the house.
