"Not only did Galen act as the general contractor on this job, he also was a design consultant, making several suggestions for improvements. The job was done in a professional manner and was completed in a shorter time frame than was estimated. If I have another job to be done, Galen will definitely be the one I call."

"Given the sad state of my front yard, I had been thinking of removing the remaining grass and xeriscaping, As luck would have it, a neighbor had been in touch with Chris for work on her yard. In addition, I noticed a sign a couple of doors down and meant to get the phone number and call. Chris happened to be next door one day and we met and talked some about what could be done, to say the results exceeded my expectations would be understatement. Chris has an artist's eye for colors, shapes and flow. Outstanding! We'll talk soon about doing the same for the back yard. Thanks!"

"Work began the day after my husband's stroke at the end of May, so there was no reason to hurry. One man worked on tearing down the existing deck and replacing it with a beautiful cedar one, fully screened with two screened doors to the outside. It's a very large deck! When my husband finally came home three months later, he loved the work so much that he is out there every possible moment. I wholeheartedly recommend this company!!!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
