"They found a problem with the humidistat that was preventing the duct fan from turning on. All I was charged for was the $29 visit fee. The previous contractor that came out said we had a bad fan motor and humidistat (which they kept calling a thermostat - red flag) and quoted us $1500."

"Afterburner Home Solutions is AMAZING! We are remodeling an older home and I wanted to ensure we had the latest technology integrated into an older home wiring infrastructure. Fred, the owner of the company, personally made multiple visits to the home at different stages of the remodel to help identify package options and determine optimal installment timing. We selected a Google based package that included Nest wifi mesh network with extra WiFi point due to home layout/size. Fred recommended going with a Surf modem and made home wiring adjustments from the cable internet input to maximize my wifi performance (691 Mbps download / 16 Mbps upload). Additional items Fred integrated into my system: - 2 x Nest Thermostats (which required pulling new 5 wire to replace older 4 wire) - 5 x Sonos Speakers (including 2x outdoor speakers requiring new power supply outlet and speaker wire through attic) - 2x Nest/Yale Locks on primary doors (required drilling new deadbolt hole as well as significant door adjustment) - 2x Genie Aladdin Connect Smart Garage Door Openers and door sensors - Nest Hello Doorbell/camera (requiring new wiring to supply remote power and integration into system to supply door chime through Sonos speakers) - Multiple outdoor cameraâ s - Integrated 3x Wemo WiFi smart plugs for automated home light control - Updated 40 can lights to selectable LED recessed lighting Bottom Line - I couldnâ t provide a stronger recommendation for Afterburner Home Solutions and will use for all future home technology upgrades."

For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician Arrivescastle rock Electricians are rated 4.7 out of 5 based on 930 reviews of 930 pros.
