"After getting quotes and meeting 3 other contractors, we easily made the decision to hire JK Custom Building & Remodeling to finish our large basement. From the very start John was able to offer suggestions and was very knowledgeable regarding every aspect of construction. From the first stud that went up to every detail along the way, John and his crew were excellent craftsmen. We really liked the fact that John was hands on and kept us updated several times a week as to what and when to expect the various phases of the construction. His skill and workmanship is superior. My family and I have stated throughout that we were so lucky and fortunate to have selected him and his company. He used only the best, high quality materials and gave us great suggestions. Our basement looks absolutely amazing! Janet & Phil L. Cream Ridge, NJ"

"GREAT experience with this company - they will be my go-to now for electrical work. They contacted me within 15 minutes of my request on Angi - very professional and personable - and were able to schedule me for the next morning. I had a bit of a convoluted project - more than we realized - with installation of our new tv over our fireplace. Geek Squad did their part, but we needed an electrician to work some of the wiring. It turned into a LOT of work - physical and mental - and Ramel was up to the task. What a great guy - good at his job and very focused on customer service. He was fantastic, and we could not be more pleased at the ways he went above and beyond to try to help us work out some very odd kinks in our set-up. Great job!"

"Woke up with no heat! Right before Christmas! Harris responded instantly and sent out someone to check the problem. Due to incorrect installation, rain had gotten into the improperly sealed roof vents, which in turned fried the transformer, inducer and circuit board. They were at my place bright and early the next morning installing a brand new furnace, more efficient and quieter, with a 10 year warranty. Arranged financing and were finished by 3pm. Everyone from my first phone call to the last service tech was professional, polite, knowledgeable and all around pleasant and really nice people. They will be my go to for heating, AC, plumbing and electrical from here on in. Glad I found them!"

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician ArrivesPrinceton Junction Electricians are rated 4.6 out of 5 based on 538 reviews of 538 pros.
