Comment: I have 2 cracks in my sidewalk that extend to the tip of my driveway. The driveway appears to be lower than the walkway to my front door. I am also considering pavers.

Comment: Widen/improve apron/driveway [d/w], & walkway connecting d/w to porch. I want your successful completion to be such that you are happy to use our d/w as an example of your quality, techniques, and workmanship! D/W is 178 inches wide and the length is approximately 50 feet including the wider apron, adjoining street. Galvanized pipe culvert has disintegrated. Concrete above that culvert has cracked and is uneven. Our RFQ is in two parts, an either/or RFQ: 1a) Create a wider d/w, 18.5 ft. wide and approximately 50 feet long, with the small widening area enabling the porch area to connect to the d/w, and having these other particulars: a] an extra-deep edge/berm, so that d/w cannot crack at the edges; b] include a pvc pipe under the concrete to accommodate the sprinkler system piping; c] add fill, tamp, reinforce--whatever good concrete contractors do--appropriately; d] extend the culvert well beyond the d/w's new width, so it can never be eroded or cause the d/w to lose strength or functionality in the next 50 years! e] be finished nicely, with concrete saw cuts well-spaced, and with no ripples, pits, voids or problems associated with inferior finishing! --OR-- 1b) Same as above, but, if possible, re-barring the newly-created, wider d/w over top of the cleaned, bonding-enhanced existing d/w, to make the resulting surface thicker (and capable of enduring heavier vehicles), so the d/w would be 4” higher & nearby ground and grass would not be sloping down as much to the d/w. --OR-- 2) A smaller job: Just fix the first 14-17 feet from the roadway extending toward the home, widening it another 44 inches, all the way up. Repair culvert area, then add 44 inches of width to the other 36 feet, to create the width desired, but leaving most of the existing d/w intact. I would prefer 22” add-on on each side of existing d/w, but will consider all on one side, like a new sidewalk alongside of the d/w. Thanks for reviewing & quoting!
