"Hi, I would like to let your staff know that my wife and I are extremely pleased with our new tub and shower renovation. Mark and Tim kept us informed all the way through the retrofit process. As for Mark and Tim's professionalism, they were second to none! Very respectful, extremely friendly and courteous. There work was first rate and they left the job clean and spotless. They even laid throw rugs down so that they would not damage the flouring through the house. As for the demolition process, Mark and Tim removed and disposed of all renovation debris â they did not leave it on the side of our yard for the garbage pickup, WOW! Mark and Tim arrived early both days of the renovation and got to work immediately. They made the renovation look easy. They came well prepared and had all of the materials necessary to complete the renovation quickly. Mark went over the pluming process and informed me of why they use the materials they chose for the renovation â he was extremely through on explaining the plumbing process and I greatly appreciated that. I had some concerns about how the shower window casing would be installed. Again, Mark went over the process with me and the final window casing came out beautifully. Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Licensing

We require all pros to attest that they carry the appropriate local and state licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

State Business Filings

If a business states that it's registered as a corporation or limited liability company, we confirm that the company is in good standing in the state in which they operate.

Ratings
