"I am writing this DETAILED review, because I am sure most prospective customers will welcome and appreciate it. BACKGROUND: How many times had we seen TV shows about vendors winning a job, then disappearing half-way through the project, leaving the homeowners with a mess everywhere. We were hyper-sensitive to this fact, so we really did our due diligence. We interviewed five separate contractors. Opulent Design Build (ODP) got our business, because: 1. They thoroughly reviewed our project plans and provided guidance (without making us feel like an open ATM). 2. They were the ONLY vendor to line-item each major project item cost. 3. ONLY vendor that came in upfront and said all material was cost+ 20%. Nothing more and nothing less. 4. They even welcomed us purchasing some of the materials on our own, saving us some money. For example, when we saw toilets on sale at Home Depot, we purchased three, saved the receipt and they deducted it from the project cost. 5. Reputation: After reviewing ODB's business records and job history, they truly out-shined the rest. We were confident they would still be in business throughout the project, unlike some other vendors that showed up with questionable records and spotty history. 6. Mgmt availability was impressive, in that when we had some questions and I requested to speak with the owner to wrap things up, he met with me the next day. Not many owners take personal ownership of their business like Eddie. PROJECT DETAILS: After a month of reviewing contractors, we were very tight with our timeline, as we had 2 months to get this full-house major remodel completed. a) Payment Schedule: ODB came to us with a payment schedule aligned to project milestones, something you don't often find in the industry. Often vendors just expect their payment on a due date, regardless of whether or not they completed their previously-indicated project tasks. We had eight payments set up, with the first being larger to allow for them to buy materials needed to start the project. Everything worked out as promised and we honored our side by making timely payments too. b) Workers: Right from the start, their Senior Construction Manager, Johnny S. was onsite managing the start of the project. To my surprise, he would show up onsite almost EVERY DAY in the morning to answer any questions his team might have. One thing we loved about Johnny was that we had direct access to him too, via mobile phone. My wife and I would easily text him or call with any concerns or questions. His response time was usually within the hour. The other thing that impressed me is that consistently, we had 2-4 guys on our job site SIX days a week for the FULL two months. In the beginning, Johnny even had 6-7 guys working for a full two weeks, since most of the heavy lifting fell into those initial weeks. Oh, and these guys were really great too. Very respectful of my family and property. No smoking, drinking or profanity. Although many spoke Spanish, there was always someone their that could converse in English if needed. c) Work Quality: Johnny told me that the reason all his guys were super talented in their respective areas is because he is extremely focused on hiring only the best. These guys were truly amazing, and the quality really came through in all aspects. Johnny would back me up too, if we mutually agreed that something was not looking right and he would instruct his guys to do it over, regardless of the additional time and money required at his expense. d) The Unexpected: Three-quarters of the way thru the project, after all the walls were finished and painted, we developed TWO slab-leaks. Johnny calmed me down and instead worked with me to ensure that the problem got resolved in a timely fashion and a reasonable cost. We cannot recommend this company enough! HIRE THEM - PERIOD! :-)"

"Jeromes extensive experience with business TI projects made him the perfect choice for our needs. Hiring him was one of the best decisions we could have made. His exceptional skill, combined with his genuine kindness and honesty, truly set him apart. Culver City presents its fair share of challenges, particularly with the citys responsiveness, but Jerome and his team went above and beyond. They consistently communicated with the city on our behalf, advocating tirelessly to expedite the permit process and relieve so much of the stress on our end. Jerome dedication and professionalism are unmatched, and his commitment to his clients is evident in every step of the process. "We interviewed 7 architects for our whole house remodel: 3 from Service Magic, 4 that friends suggested. Rick was the perfect choice for our big house remodel with the not-so-big budget. He quickly understood our familys design aesthetic and needs. A brilliant, artistic architect, Rick designs stunning homes and giant bridges, churches and buildings. Yet his fees are competitive, a bargain for his skill, attention to detail, and desire to please. He finds unique, cost-effective solutions and will work until youre satisfied. Hes reliable, responsive, calm, patient, and a very nice guy. We were fortunate to find Rick Kaufman for our project."
