"We had a challenging and highly technical 12x16 TREX deck re-leveling (repair) and refinish project that some other contractors declined to take on or quoted me absolutely ridiculous amounts. After moving a header board and re-leveling the joists, the TREX was completely removed and replaced with a new color scheme and new TREX railings with cocktail rail. After a miscommunication with a local TREX deck supply company resulting in a minor delay due to the unique color combination, the final product was worth the wait. Kyle B. from Marco Construction was as meticulous and detail-oriented as I would have been in ensuring that this deck was finished looking exactly how I envisioned it from the beginning. Only pictures do this project justice, but I cannot upload them to HomeAdvisor with this review. The details and scope of the project are below. - Original Deck - TREX with TREX Fascia and Redwood Railings - Fascia, Deck Boards, and Stairs Removed To Level The Joists - Resecured To Wall and Header Board Moved To Center Of Deck - Joist Replacement (5) Of Warped Boards - Relevel Stairs Sets To New Joists - TREX Rope Swing Decking Installed using Universal Clips - TREX Lava Rock Picture Frame Installed Around Outside Of Rope Swing - TREX Lava Rock Fascia Installed Around Outside - New 4x4 Wood Posts For Railings Installed - TREX White Post Covers/Caps/Skirts Installed - TREX Vintage Lantern Univeral Top and Bottom Rails Installed - TREX Black Square Aluminum Balusters with Infill Kits Installed - TREX Lava Rock Square Board Installed On Top For A Wider Cocktail Rail - Stairs with TREX Rope Swing Square Board with Lava Rock Frame Sides Kyle B. did an excellent job with this project which took approximately 1 month from start to finish due to the materials delay. The actual construction time was very reasonable and much less than the month. The final cost was a little higher than the original quote, but not out of the question due to the additional framing, header, and deck board installs work required to build the deck as I envisioned it. "I worked with Archer to design and build a steel frame, 20' x 20' composite deck off the back of my newly built home. He was honest and answered all my questions promptly during the build process. He moved 2 sprinkler heads/lines before construction of the deck began to ensure they were out of the way and would not be damaged. When I had questions concerning the build and was worried about certain parts of the build, he let me know what was standard (and the way they were working the project) and still gave me the option to make the change that I was concerned with. I appreciate his honesty during the process and guiding me through the process of having the deck built. Even with winter weather delays, the deck was finished in under a month! Now I have an amazingly beautiful deck to enjoy as the weather warms up and I cannot wait to use it this summer! Also, during one of the walkthroughs, I noticed the nails were popping out of my gate on my fence. I was working on these when Archer arrived. He took a few minutes and threw some deck screws into the gate during the visit! He didn't have to do this but I greatly appreciated his help! "Trevor did an excellent job cleaning our deck/patio areas (500SF of stamped concrete, 400 SF of Eon composite decking). Decking: 20 yrs old. Stamped concrete: 30 yrs old. He power washed the surfaces with a 2700 PSI power washer. Pwr washing removed the loose sealer, dirt, dust etc. He applied terracotta red & brown Quikcrete color product (Home Depot or Amazon). He also applied the brown Quikcrete product to highlight the grout lines which gives the appearance of flagstone. He followed with 2 coats of Behr sealer & applied 303 Aerospace Protectant (Amazon) to the Eon deck. The 303 Product really brings the “oak color” & wood grain. Trevor also re-stained the Hot tub wood, wood bench, & vertical surfaces (posts, paneling etc). See the enclosed pics for details. Pay close attention to the Co Spgs weather. Sealers can take a few hrs to dry."
