"Came to house immediately to assess the job (remove and replace 3 blocks of walkway concrete with metal mesh, including cleanup and removal of debris). I was told the work would be done the next day, but there were weather issues, and was promised they would do it the day after ... which they did. They showed up promply and got right to work. They clearly had the expertise to do the job, and focused on doing it correctly. The work took most of the day, and they stayed with it to make sure it was completed and correct. Due to unique contour, the ground to the sides needs to be tapered, which is fine as I can do that easily to my liking ... So, I am satisfied with the work."

Residential - Electric
"Ryan is awesome! We needed to upgrade our garage electrical + smoke detectors & pool alarms @ our rental property in L.I. (Permit dept requirements) Ryan arrived right when he said he would & he stayed extra to help ADT solve a new thermostat issue. He texted us pics of each repair/replacement he did before he left the property. He gives good & honest advice, & is very easy to work with! Other electricians we contacted for this last minute project didnâ t even bother to get back to us! I highly recommend RCK Electric."

Skylights, Roofing, Gutter Cleaning
"I wanted to wait for a bad rain storm and wind to see if the job was done well, and I can say it was an excellent job. Overall, I was very happy with them. They came to fix our leaking skylights. The two offered the best price (beating three other quotes) and were able to quickly complete the job the next day. I really appreciate that they didn't give a quote and then said they need 3 weeks to show up. The replaced shingles and ice shield are holding up well, made it through the past several rain storms and really strong winds. They cleaned up and made sure no nails were around in the yard, that was great. If we decide to replace the whole main roof in the future, I would not hesitate to call them and get a new quote and let them do the job. Definitely call them and let them give you an estimate!!!!!!!"

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician ArrivesHampton Bays Electricians are rated 4.8 out of 5 based on 184 reviews of 184 pros.
