"We hired Michael and his team for our newly updated kitchen and living room. Michael was professional, prompt, and affordable. He and his team installed our new lights (including a chandelier), outlets, switches and they mounted a tv for us. The quality of the work was great and they took care to keep the area clean, a huge win in my book :) I have recommended him to all my friends and family."

Remodels, Anything electricial
"Brandon did a great job finishing our basement. Our house was built in 1915 so there were inevitably surprises along the way, and Brandon stayed flexible while keeping true to our design. He also subbed out carpentry and plumbing work to highly qualified, reliable professionals. Because this work was done during the pandemic, there were unavoidable shipping delays -- for furniture and doors in particular -- but Brandon shifted work as needed while being cognizant of our work schedules. The signature piece in the basement is a custom wet bar, which Brandon made from a monolithic slab of ash wood (from Dueling Maples in Glenside, PA). It is fantastic and immediately draws your attention as you come down the stairs into the basement. He also used salvaged wood from two old paint shelves that were in our basement and dated from the 1940s. They were made of cedar and worked perfectly for the front side of the bar. Some of the surprises included (luckily dormant) termite damage to the basement steps and some sagging in the basement ceiling. Brandon addressed both with minimal change to the overall expense. Basement remodeling is a major investment in your home, and we are very happy we entrusted that investment with Brandon and his team. Thanks for the great work!"

"Brad was on time and fixed everything on my list in a little over an hour but only charged for one hour at a very reasonable rate. He said he'd come back at no charge to install a new track light if either of us can find a matching one. He even offered to help carry in my groceries from the car."

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician ArrivesGlenside Electricians are rated 0.0 out of 5 based on 0 reviews of 0 pros.
