  Comment: We have a small unfinished basement that we'd love to finish and make into a livable rec room type area. There is no issue now with water/leaking, though one corner has powdery residue that comes off the wall, which may indicate some moisture behind the wall? The area would need a new staircase leading down and insulation installed behind whatever drywall would be placed and new block windows needed.
