"I live in a town home community, and 4 units (including mine) were experiencing the serious failure of a two-story exterior brick facade. It was becoming a dangerous situation and needed prompt attention. We met with several brick experts to diagnose the problem and discuss how to repair or replace the wall. Anderson Mason had neither the "cheapest" quote, nor was it the most expensive quote, but Mr. Anderson was the brick mason all of the neighbors trusted the most. We could immediately tell that he was very concerned about putting his name on quality craftsmanship and materials, and we are glad we hired him. When we told Mr. Anderson that we were hiring him, the neighbors were honestly a little concerned about paying half of the cost up-front, but Mr. Anderson explained the amount of materials that would need to be ordered for the project. We felt tremendously better about everything when he immediately demonstrated that he trusted us by putting significant time, labor, and costs into "shoring up" our wall to prevent a dangerous collapse before he received any money from us. Mr. Anderson saved us from an unexpected wall collapse, and he kept us informed on the status of the materials and timeline of the project. He and his team expertly dismantled the failing wall (without further damage anything), kept us informed on the status of the materials, and kept us informed in advance of when weather would affect the timeline for the project. They were able to build a brand new wall in the estimated timeline given upfront. Although no homeowner enjoys an emergency project like this, we all learned to appreciate Mr. Anderson and all of the team members he brought to work on our project. We felt we could trust all of the team with our house keys, and we knew if we left them to work all day, we would come home to see significant progress being made. They all took pride in doing quality work, and they also made us feel like part of their family. In the end, we ended up with a beautiful new brick wall that matches the other existing units as well as one could hope (considering the older walls are sixty-plus years old)--actually, our new wall looks so much better than the old walls on the neighboring units. I know that if I need brick work in the future, I have the name of someone I can call who will give me the straight story about what work needs to be done, but who will not try to sell me something I do not need. Anybody considering hiring Anderson Masonry should feel at ease knowing that they can do so without worrying about someone doing poor work or "running off" with the money. "We had two fairly large brick retaining walls that were on the brink of failure and a concrete patio between them that was starting to crumble. We had some ideas about how we wanted to replace them (and expand them), and the other contractors that gave bids took our ideas and wrote up bids. When Brian came out to do the estimate, he listened to our ideas, then he took the time to look around at the house and yard and environment, and was able to offer options and ideas that were way better than anything we had considered, for around the same price. We live in an older house that has been modified and expanded several times over the years, so we always find surprises when doing a project. We warned Brian about this and realized that there might be additional costs, depending on the surprise. As expected, they found a few (some kind of ugly) during demolition of the old walls and patio. In each case, Brian and/or his crew would show us the issue, offer solutions, and make sure we agreed before moving forward. As expected there were a few small-ish price adjustments to handle some of the bigger surprises (like when they had to spend an extra day busting out a section of concrete patio that was more than 2 1/2 feet thick instead of the few inches thick everywhere else). The adjustments were justified, very reasonable, and expected (since the scope of the job had changed). Brian was upfront about everything as it came up and made sure to explain everything before proceeding, so there were no surprises in that department. Brian and his crew were friendly, professional, and hard-working. Most importantly they were competent and skilled. As another reviewer mentioned, it took a while for them to initially get out here to start the job (apparently ALL contractors were swamped this summer due to covid or whatever), but once they got here, even with the surprises and delays, they knocked out the job in about a week. Most importantly, the new walls and patio turned out absolutely beautiful. My neighbors have commented on how great it looks - way nicer than it did before or anything we were considering. I look forward to many years enjoying it. I also love the lifetime warranty on the walls and 10 year warranty on the patio! We have a couple other projects that we're thinking about maybe doing sometime down the road, and we'll be keeping Brian's number handy."
