Write a ReviewAvoid This Contractor ? Sloppy Work, Poor Communication, and No Accountability We hired Usat Homes (was Built Blocks Construction when we hired them) in October for a bathroom remodel, paying a premium price expecting high-quality work. Unfortunately, the results have been nothing short of a disaster. Craftsmanship Issues: Tiles were cut with jagged edges. - Doors were left half-painted. - Paint trimming was messy and unprofessional. - The flooring is already lifting in parts of the bathroom. - The grout in the shower has cracked five times since they "finished" the job in December. Project Management Failures: - Incorrect measurements on the bathtub delayed the project by a full month. - Their so-called "interior designer" refused to visit the house to take proper measurements, causing even more issues. - They tore down a wall claiming there was a leak?only to admit later there was nothing wrong. Instead of an apology, they told me they did me a "favor" by rebuilding it.
I was left in the lurch by an unscrupulous local remodeler. Being reluctant to hire an additional company after such a negative experience, I called Floor and Decor for a referral and USAT tile responded quickly to my cry for help. From the get go, Alina and Shiran were timely, responsive, and eager to please. They picked right up where the fired contractor left off and they did remedy his mistakes to provide for an outstanding finished product. I was very pleased with their excellent communication, follow-through, and timely responses to my concerns. they even had a jobsite project manager who took my calls/texts and visited the job each week (sometimes twice)! I purchased the materials; USAT provided labor. I was pleased with the cabinet quality. Any concerns or needs I had were listened to and the owners/staff quickly addressed any issues. Would definitely recommend USAT Tile to friends and family and plan to use them myself for future projects
I hired USAT Homes because of their prompt response. Initially, I hired them to remodel my kitchen and bathroom, and redo the floors, and they provided a quote that seemed to be good, and after starting, I even added a few other things to be done. After the go-ahead to start, they quickly got to work which was great, however half way through the project I begin to notice some things that seemed a little off. For one, the kitchen was demoed way before I even received a quote for cabinetry. When I finally received the quote for the cabinets, I noticed that the quote, which was from another company, also included labor in addition to the original quote I received. While I was expecting the quote for the cabinets, I was under the impression that USAT would be doing the work to install them, but the original quote only include the demolition of the kitchen. Also, while I was looking to have the project completed by a certain time, things seemed to be rushed to the point where I was being asked to just pick things that I did not like just to get the project done. I have also noticed some things around the house where care was not taken, such as, paint splatter on the floor, nail holes in the baseboards that were not filled, and unevenly painted areas. Not to mention, I cannot connect the dryer vent hose because the vent is surrounded by the baseboard, and there is not enough of the vent to connect the hose to. Also, I have had to have another contractor finish the kitchen backsplash because, that too, was not included in the initial quote even after we selected tile for the backsplash. Toward the end of the project, after the floors were installed, I was informed that I needed to purchase transitions to finish the area where the sliding doors were. Also at the end of the project, I was informed that everything was complete, however, after further inspection, the hot water in the bathroom was not connected. There was also trash left and materials left in the front of the house, as well as an excess of open materials that I paid for, but will probably never be used. The worst part is the shower tile is already starting to crack, three weeks after completion. All in all, while thing look great from a distance, there are noticeable difference when viewed up close. Sadly, while USAT was great in their interaction, they did not provide the professionalism that I had hoped for.
Responsive contractor. Work was neat and high quality. I would recommend them.
USAT Homes and very profesional, they are prompt to return your calls/text/emails as soon as they can, the staff is kind, friendly and very profesional.
We had an excellent experience with USAT Homes! They recently completed our kitchen renovation and did an amazing job. They were able to start almost right away and finished early. The quality is outstanding and their workers were respectful. We loved that we were able to have a direct line to the project manager Shiran anytime.
I hired USAT to renovate my kitchen, they offered me the best price when I was shopping for quotes. What amazes me is that they include free design consulting! They were able to start less than a week after we signed the contract and finished early as well. The job was perfect down to the last detail, the workers were also professional and friendly. Honestly I canâ t understand why anyone wouldnâ t use them!
Amazing service, overall it was a good company. They made me very happy!
