We Design Build was recommended by a friend of a friend. The work to be performed was rebuilding poured concrete stairs & portico to replace the existing cement steps. Other work included a bluestone sidewalk, a new metal roof and front door/storm door. They started demo at the end of 10/2023. While asking for more information on the roof, it didnâ  t take long to figure out that C. Kaya Biron, the architect/contractor I worked with, had zero roofing experience and couldnâ  t answer my questions. I took that part of the project off his contract. I also removed the front door and storm door from the bid when I realized how unskilled his masonry laborers were. These are the main reasons why I fired We Build Design and would never recommend them: -While jackhammering the existing stairs and landing, the workers busted through the basement cinderblock but continued to work. Dust billowed into the basement which ultimately took me seven hours to clean up. I also had a huge hole in my wall. They also cracked some brick that was slated to remain intact. Their demo was careless at best. -The lead worker (the only English speaker) pushed back after he was instructed to replace the three cracked cinderblocks. He had replaced only two and complained that he had to go back to Home Depot. He also stated that he would only replace half a cinderblock since only half of it was damaged. (He begrudgingly replaced the whole third block.) -The workers ILLEGALLY killed 7 baby, docile Dekayâ  s brown snakes that were in a hibernaculum under the steps that were being demolished. To be certain, the workers had no right to kill anything on my property. I was always available but they never sought me out. When I mentioned the killing to Kaya, he laughed. -The workers filled the exposed pit under the landing with construction debris after being implicitly instructed not to (I wanted to plug any holes that mice could be using as entryways AND I did not want their trash left on my property). Angry with having to remove the debris, the lead worker chucked the concrete into my garden violently and purposely threw a large heavy piece on one of my huge stepping stones and cracked the stone. Thatâ  s when I had him banned from my property. But somehow he showed up the next day. I texted Kaya and he responded to "just let them do their job." What? I didnâ  t want an angry person working on my property and had to argue to have him removed again. -The workers were not only sloppy but they were also unskilled in masonry; bluestone laid over the new concrete was not cut straight or laid correctly. They were also moving at a glacial pace. I asked Kaya if he thought the workers were skilled and he said yes. I asked him to replace the crew with a more experienced one and Kaya said â  this is the only crew.â  Thatâ  s when I fired him off of the job completely. -I hired another masonry company to start over, chisel off the haphazardly laid stone and to finish the stairs with better-matching brick and thicker bluestone. They discovered that the new cement stairs Kayaâ  s crew had poured had not been measured correctly. The top stair was 14â  deep while the rest were about 12â  . This caused additional problems. We Build Design appears to be in the business to make a lot of money for themselves and to NOT deliver a good product. In my case, they hired only unskilled laborers that were subcontracted from who knows where. At no time did Kaya of We Build Design advocate for me. I was paying him a lot to oversee the work and to give aesthetic advice but he failed me. On so many levels. The whole experience was horrible and I hope they do not get the opportunity to take advantage of any other women.

This company is excellent and their work is A-number one. They are great to work with and make sure everything is exactly how you want it. I will hire them again when I am ready to do addition work.

We Design Build has renovated several areas including large commercial bathrooms, many office renovations and recently new security entrance and a few dozen more projects for me at the Embassy of Canada. Excellent General Contractor/design build experience with an architect lead to ensure the project is completed professionally and on time!
