I'm caring for my elderly mother in North Fort Myers who is currently in the hospital. Her central ac went out so I needed to call someone ASAP. Not from this state, I dialed the 800 number on the ac unit which did not go to the company listed but to Service Today. I decided to roll with it because it needed to be repaired. A tech came out later that day and gave me several quotes. All of the repair quotes that ranged from $1300 to $3300 and came with no warrantee stating that because they would be putting new parts on an old system that there was no way to ensure that the old system could handle the new upgrades. Sounds reasonable. So we bit the bullet and opted for a new install at the tune of $10k. The tech said he would do his best to get the old unit up and running at no charge which (surprise) took less than 20 min. He took longer to write up the quotes. We paid half up front and were told we would get a call to set up the install once the new unit came in. I got a call on Tuesday and set it up for Thursday morning and was told the install would take 4-6 hours. I pushed my mothers appointments with her case manager and nutritionist to Thursday afternoon and sat around all morning waiting for them to show up. Shortly after noon I received a call stating that they would not be able to make it that morning because all of the members of one of their crews called out. Needing to get to the hospital and too frustrated to speak with the tech, I told him to have the company call back to reschedule the following day. It is now Saturday afternoon, the office is closed and I am fuming. So far I see that they are more than eager to come out quickly, play on my lack of knowledge regarding central ac systems, make it sound as though my elderly mother may be subjected to no ac in the sweltering Florida weather, collect a pretty sizable amount of money with little effort, and very poor customer service and follow up. Hopefully I will get some sort of response from them after this glowing review.
