This company was absolutely the best! From laurel Sublet , she right away arranged to come and look at my concerns. To let me that they could do it for me. To getting the owner Steve to come measure and help with siding soft and facial color ideas. To laurel, being here a n d being in charge of all the construction that was done. I have never had one problem with any of the work performed. They were all fabulous and they certainly raised the bar. I have nothing but great things to say about laurel and the team! Thank you Kathy s.

Due to its advanced age, weathering, and damage from woodpeckers, our house required the replacement of its siding, soffits, and facia. Our house has undergone numerous additions over the years, including a third garage stall, a three-season room, deck, and screen porch, which all together significantly increased the complexity and cost of the project compared to a typical siding replacement. After receiving bids from five companies, we selected SMA to undertake the work. SMA’s approach presented a distinctive design with a cost-effective strategy that aligned with our requirements and budget. Throughout the project, we had the privilege of collaborating with several individuals within the SMA team. The organization’s overall professionalism and expertise were evident in our interactions, the resulting work, as well as my overall rating in this review. The first individual we engaged with was Max, who assisted us in selecting a siding that met our budget and design specifications. Max demonstrated patience throughout the design phase and assured us that the chosen siding would provide long-term protection against weathering and woodpecker damage. Laurel served as the project scheduler. She demonstrated exceptional responsiveness to our inquiries and ensured us that the project would be completed before colder weather conditions posed a risk to painting, the final step in our project. Vitale oversaw the crew responsible for the siding, soffits, and facia installation. As previously mentioned, our house had undergone numerous modifications, which posed significant challenges. Vitale effectively managed these challenges and ensured that the resulting installation was executed with meticulous attention to detail and functionality. We were thoroughly impressed with the outcome. Lastly, JR executed an exceptional job painting the siding to compliment our existing gutters and shingles. JR’s contributions were instrumental in transforming the project from an in-progress to a successfully completed project. Over the past few years, we have engaged with several other companies to undertake various home improvement projects. These projects often necessitate additional visits and extended time to meet our expectations. SMA has consistently exceeded these expectations, completing the project on time, within budget, and with exceptional results. I highly recommend SMA for any home improvement projects.

Absolutely Turn Key process. Can't forget the roofing crew. They were great!. Completed the job in one day. Not sure where to even start with this review, other than to tell you: This is NOT your contractor. Save yourself a lot of grief, money, and time. SMA Exteriors, without a doubt, provided us with the worst experience we have had with any contractor/vendor. To add some depth to this statement, my wife is a realtor in new construction, and I am an attorney. We have dealt with our fair share of contractors and contractual issues. SMA was hired to replace our roof and gutters; the entire process was a nightmare. I will try and keep this short Dylan (the owners son) was our sales representative. In a nutshell, Dylan delicately (and awkwardly) avoided questions about gutter repairs during the initial sales meeting, he overpromised on expectations of time and workmanship, and on one occasion, arguably, tried to swindle us into paying more than what was already covered by the insurance proceeds. The extra funds Dylan requested, on top of the insurance proceeds SMA agreed to, was of course for SMA to complete our gutter work the questions avoided in the initial sales meeting. Beware if you need gutter work done, SMA initially only presents you with a roofing contract claiming it is all covered. In our case, our gutters were ripped off by the roofers and we did not have gutters for months. Additionally, SMA took over a month to pick up their extra supplies, which they left in our front yard and ended up killing the grass where it lay. When we asked, we were told it would be months for the gutter work to get done. No one from SMA would return my emails once I started pressing for the gutter work to be completed. I did not receive a response until I grew so frustrated that I sent a litigation-styled email from my attorney's email address. Oddly enough, I got a response then. SMAs scheduler claimed they needed more time; mind you several months passed and it was the dead of winter now. Great time to install gutters, when there is snow and ice on the roof. Oh, and, it was only then that I was presented with a Gutter Contract this could have been done at the initial meeting. As I mentioned, I was firm in letting SMA know that the insurance proceeds, which they agreed to, were going to cover the gutter work. I was not paying anything extra. I threatened to leave an adverse online review, and again, only then did I get a response from the owner himself this time, Steve. Steve attempted to resolve the issue with a myriad of excuses and a shell of an apology. He rescheduled my gutter work sooner to avoid an adverse review. Fast forward to this Spring, when we had several water intrusion problems we did not have before the new roof installation. I reached out to SMA to let them know about the issue, and their lack of response did not surprise me. When SMA did respond they took no ownership of any of the issues and did not even come out to inspect as they are statutorily obligated to once put on notice. They blamed ice dams and washed their hands of any concerns. Ultimately, we had an engineer come out and explain to us that SMA, while not directly responsible for the water intrusion, as a roofing contractor should have explained the lack of ventilation we had. Furthermore, they should have recommended additional ventilation to avoid the attic condensation that often occurs with a new roof. That would have saved us from the additional water intrusion claim we now filed with our carrier. I honestly forgot to write this review, however, I was reminded about it last night when we ran into Dylan who approached us for a handshake as if our experience and transaction were one SMA should be proud of. Again, save yourself the grief, money, and time and find another contractor.
